Maddie Hunter: The transplant doctor at St. Vincent's was a doctor named Dr. Desikan and he partnered with Dr. Jagannath. And the day I arrived for my transplant at St. Vincent's, he welcomed Ames and I. I wanted to brag, in a way, that I was so prepared. I had a lot of stuff to read and all this, and that I had gotten a guardian plan set up, and I had my will set up. And he was listening to me with this weird look on his face. And he said, "Maddie, you're better prepared to die than you are to live on the other side of this. And you are going to be amazed at what you're going to create."

And at the time, I didn't believe him. I mean, I said, "Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah." Doctors, they say this, but he was right. And I share that …
