Can Birth Control Pills Cause Stroke?

Birth control pills are an oral contraceptive that releases hormones into the body, typically estrogen and progesterone. These hormones prevent the ovaries from releasing eggs (ovulation) and the thickening of the cervical mucus, making it harder for sperm to reach an egg. These actions prevent fertilization but also can cause unwanted side effects.
