Though regulations and funding applications can be difficult to navigate at first, communicating the process of academic research to less experienced colleagues may encourage more investigator-initiated trials. The Phase III trial of elacestrant in patients with ER+/HER2- breast cancer (NCT05512364) is discussed as an example.
