Facilitating translational research in clinical trials

Michail Ignatiadis, MD, PhD, Jules Bordet Institute, Brussels, Belgium, discusses the facilitation of translational research in clinical trials. Though regulations and funding applications can be difficult to navigate at first, communicating the process of academic research to less experienced colleagues may encourage more investigator-initiated trials. The Phase III trial of elacestrant in patients with ER+/HER2- breast cancer (NCT05512364) is discussed as an example. This interview took place at the 14th European Breast Cancer Conference (EBCC) in Milan, Italy.
