MO House to induct Norm Stewart into Hall of Famous Missourians | Top Stories [Video]

(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.) The Missouri House of Representatives announced on Monday that Norm Stewart will be inducted into the Hall of Famous Missourians.

Norman “Norm” Stewart coached basketball at the University of Missouri for three decades leading the team to 734 wins, eight Big Eight titles, 16 NCAA Tournament appearances, and winning multiple Coach of the Year honors. 

In 1989, Stewart founded Coaches Vs. Cancer after being diagnosed with colon cancer, the initiative raised over a million dollars for the fight against cancer. 

The induction ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 1st at the Missouri House of Representatives located at 201 West Capitol Avenue in Jefferson City at 1 p.m. in the Missouri House Chamber. 

There will be a reception following the ceremony in the 3rd floor rotunda.
