Overview of ICI colitis and its effect on cancer treatment

Yinghong Wang, MD, PhD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) colitis, a significant immune-related adverse event (irAE) in cancer immunotherapy. ICIs have greatly improved cancer treatment but can cause colitis, leading to severe inflammation, treatment interruptions, and worse outcomes if not managed. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
