Animation of Penile Implant [Video]

Penile implants are devices placed inside the penis to allow men with erectile dysfunction (ED) to get an erection. Penile implants are typically recommended for impotence. The placement of penile implants requires surgery. ED clinics are medical clinics staffed by healthcare professionals that specialize in diagnosing and treating erectile dysfunction. The term “ED clinic” typically isn’t used in medicine. Instead, it’s a marketing term that might be used by a clinic that specializes in male sexual health issues such as ED. Some ED clinics deal with other aspects of men’s sexual health, such as premature ejaculation (PE) or low testosterone. Our client visited an ED clinic in Nashville. One of the treatments involves injection of a mixed medication with a diabetic syringe that causes an instant and prolonged erection. A doctor at the clinic injected the wrong medication into our client’s penis that caused a priapism. This is a prolonged erection of the penis for more than 4 hours. Prompt treatment for priapism is usually needed to prevent tissue damage that can result in impotence where the patient can no longer achieve an erection. Our 40-year-old client was rendered impotent which is why he needed a penile implant. We had this animation made so the jury would understand penile implant surgery. The case never made it to trial because we convinced the clinic to pay $825,000 to settle.
