Medical Melanoma Detection | TensorFlow U-Net Tutorial [Video]

This tutorial provides a step-by-step guide on how to implement and train a U-Net model for Melanoma detection using TensorFlow/Keras.🔍 What You’ll Learn 🔍:Data Preparation: We’ll begin by showing you how to access and preprocess a substantial dataset of Melanoma images and corresponding masks.Data Augmentation: Discover the techniques to augment your dataset. It will increase and improve your model’s resultsModel Building: Build a U-Net, and learn how to construct the model using TensorFlow and Keras.Model Training: We’ll guide you through the training process, optimizing your model to distinguish Melanoma from non-Melanoma skin lesions.Testing and Evaluation: Run the pre-trained model on a new fresh images . Explore how to generate masks that highlight Melanoma regions within the images.Visualizing Results: See the results in real-time as we compare predicted masks with actual ground truth masks.Code for this video: More relevant content in this playlist : https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdkryDe59y4Ze9_12JhWu3cs-lOGYwYeD~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapters ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 00:00 Intro !!!!!!!00:32The U-net architecture03:39 Download the dataset and prepare the data24:07Build The U-net model29:08 Train the model 37:05 Test the model with new fresh images ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ recommended courses and books ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A perfect course for learning modern Computer Vision with deep dive in TensorFlow , Keras and Pytorch . D2 Track 1 Session 1: Cancer and Melanoma [Video]

First up today you’ll hear from Dr. Dennis Stacey, the father of Dr. Andrew Stacey. He will talk about the biology of cancer. Then you’ll hear more from Dr. Andrew Stacey on the Biology of Uveal Melanoma. Finally you will hear from Dr. Lucinda Innes about different melanomas, different immunities.Dennis Stacey PhD. As a cancer researcher, Dennis has witnessed the explosion of information related to the causes and treatments for cancer. Since the 1980s his laboratory has focused on understanding how cell division is controlled. This laboratory participated in some of the critical observations upon which our basic understanding of cancer growth is based. Currently, his laboratory in Cleveland OH is focused upon identifying a novel cancer treatment strategy, based upon observations made in his laboratory. Andrew Stacey, M.D., M.S., is an Ophthalmologist at the Eye Institute at Harborview and a UW assistant professor of Ophthalmology.Dr. Stacey knows an appointment with your doctor can be stressful. He enjoys teaching patients about what he sees in their eyes and providing them with information and options.Dr. Stacey earned his M.D. at Ohio State and his M.S. at Brigham Young University, where he was a linebacker on the football team. He has authored many publications and book chapters related to ocular tumors and maintains numerous national and international research collaborations in the field. “Lucy was born and raised in Seattle and attended Western Washington University, where she earned her degree in biochemistry. In 2021, she pursued her PhD at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City. During her first year there, she was diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma. This personal challenge inspired her to redirect her research focus towards the disease. Since her diagnosis in the fall of 2022, Lucy has been delving into the interactions between the immune system and ocular melanoma, aiming to improve the future of immunotherapies.”Email questions to contact@acureinsight.org

When to See a Doctor for Melanoma and Skin Cancers [Video]

You may ask yourself, “When do I need to see a doctor?” The short answer is if you see a skin lesion or mole that fits one of the ABCDE guidelines or the Ugly Duckling rule, or if you see a new mole or skin lesion, you should schedule an appointment with a healthcare provider who has experience with melanoma. Identifying new or changing moles/lesions is key to early detection. Melanoma is the most serious form of skin cancer. If left untreated, it can spread and become deadly. That’s why it’s important to know when it’s time to see a doctor.Heed Your Own ConcernsIf you are concerned about an area on your skin, make an appointment. Don’t hesitate to ask for a second opinion if you think it’s warranted.Important: If an appointment is not available within a week or two, even after explaining that you are concerned about melanoma, seek another physician’s office. The information in this video is correct as of 07 September 2023.For more information about melanoma or to ask Melissa a question, visit: https://www.aimatmelanoma.org/Twitter: https://twitter.com/AIMatMelanomaFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/AIMatMelanomaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/AIMatMelanoma
