18-year-old aims to become youngest pilot to fly across all 7 continents [Video]

NORWOOD, Mass. (WFXT) – An 18-year-old from Massachusetts is working towards an ambitious goal: flying solo across all seven continents.

If Ethan Guo is successful, he will be the youngest person to ever do it.

Guo said his plane has been heavily modified for his international journey.

His dream is fueled by his big heart, as his plan came about as an effort to raise $1 million for St. Jude Children’s Hospital for cancer research.

“A couple years back, my cousin who was 18 at the time, he was diagnosed with stage 4. He was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma,” Guo said.

The young pilot was raised in Milton, Massachusetts and said he has been planning his journey from the age of 13. Now that he is backed by a worthy cause, he is more determined than ever.
