Assisted reproductive techniques in patients after BRCA-mutant breast cancer

Janice Wing-Hang Tsang, MBBS, MRCP, FRCP, University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China, discusses findings from a retrospective cohort study (NCT03673306) assessing assisted reproductive techniques (ART) in young, pregnant patients with breast cancer harboring BRCA1/2 alterations. ART was found to be safe for the woman and baby, though prospective data is needed to further assess maternal and fetal outcomes. This interview took place at the 2024 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breast Cancer Annual Congress in Berlin, Germany.
