BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — A car cruise was held in Bridgeport Friday morning to honor the life of Stephen Gardner, an Air Force veteran from Harrison County. Stephen Gardner passed away this past February after a seven-and-a-half-year battle with male breast cancer.
According to Mendi Garnder, Stephen’s wife, he was a “huge car buff” and the pair has a place right outside of Shinnston known as Mustang Manor. “As a send-off, the car community is here today to send him on his last car cruise here from the funeral home to the [Grafton] National Cemetery where he will be honored,” she said.
Gardner said that her husband wasn’t initially into cars when they first met, but developed a love for them through her after they started dating. She said that when the couple bought their first Mustang, they got introduced to the Mustang community, which became “like a huge family” to …
