LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Community members rolled up their sleeves on Tuesday, giving blood to help save lives.

It was all for the 4th annual Seth’s Squad Blood Drive.

Seth Walsh, now 9 years old, is a 5-time leukemia survivor who just celebrated two years of remission.

During his fight with cancer, Seth has had more than 225 blood transfusions.

Tuesday, people gathered at Calvary Christian Center in Mt. Washington to donate blood.

“Twenty-five percent of the blood collected around the world is needed for cancer patients, so this is really an important thing for our family to do to make sure we’re giving back to the blood bank we needed so often,” Seth’s mom, Michelle Walsh, said.

WDRB has covered parts of Seth’s journey over the years and highlighted moments of success, such as the time he joined the Bellarmine Men’s Basketball team, and when he got to meet WWE superstar Seth Rollins.
