Demystifying Medical Assistance in Dying

This video takes a deep dive into procedure of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD). This is a relatively new topic in Canada and has been legalized in many other countries throughout the world. This procedure consists of a physician providing the patient with either an injection or medicine to self-administer which results in death of the patient. This process is used for patients that are considered to have an incurable illness and have exhausted all other forms of treatment. We hope this video provides you we a deeper insight on the process of MAiD and any misconceptions that surround the topic.

This video was made my McMaster University students Asha Mundi, Esha Bhutkar, Iman Malik, and Palvir Nagra in collaboration with the Demystifying Medicine McMaster Program.

We would also like to thank Dr.Takuma Isshiki, Brooke D’Mello, and Safaa Naiel for providing feedback and reviewing the contents of this video.
