Hello My name is Gaby I’m a 28 yr old childhood cancer survivor who’s now battling formerly stage 3A now stage 4 lung cancer . I will be sharing my experience with Lung cancer in hopes to connect with other warriors and survivors, as well as educate those who may know someone who’s fallen ill.
CANCER DIAGNOSIS TIMELINE:
11/2000- 7/2001
Diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma of the spine (genetic cancer). Underwent laminectomy surgery to remove golf ball sized tumor, started chemotherapy completed 7months of treatment followed by 1month of daily radiation therapy to the spine.
2015-2020 Developed Lung issues (interstitial lung disease) from post radiation treatment: lower left Lung consolidation, nodular opacities, recurrent pneumonia w/ pleural effusions and respiratory Actinomycosis infection
Official notes Lung cancer symptoms: 2019-2020
Testing began late 2020 due to pandemic delay
April 2021- officially diagnosed with stage 3A non small cell lung cancer (Adenocarcinoma)
May2021- underwent Lobectomy removal of the lower left lobe.
July2021- Oct2021:
started chemotherapy (Cisplatin, Alimta)
June-November 2022: new nodular growth
December 2022- Vats Lung Wedge resection
Jan6 2023- started immunotherapy and chemotherapy
Immunotherapy: OPDIVO/ Yervoy, chemotherapy: Carboplatin and Alimta
Jan27- treatment STOPPED-
2 cycles of Severe on site reactions with OPDIVO. Anaphylaxis*
Feb 24- began Imfinzi immunotherapy and continued chemotherapy
March 17th – last rounds of Carboplatin and Alimta chemotherapy
May 5th – continuing Imfinzi immunotherapy
July 29th- Ct scan- New nodules developing.
Aug 28th- I signed up for a clinical trial; just incase the nodules turn out to be cancerous.
Aug 30th 2023- 2nd VATS surgery performed: biopsy’s were taken.
Sept 5th 2023- Metastasized disease stage 4 lung cancer
Clinical trial: Cobimetinib and Atezolizumab combined September- December 2023
Dropped trial- Jan 2024
Feb. 6th 2024- Pulsed Electric Field therapy (Aliya system)
Feb. 26th- Atezolizumab immunotherapy

March 18th- Atezolizumab cycle 2
