Escape To The Country viewers are in tears as BBC mark his 13 years on the show by airing his last episode and a moving video montage of his best bits following his tragic death from cancer

Viewers were in tears as Escape To The Country paid tribute to show host Jonnie Irwin with his final episode.

Jonnie passed away on Friday aged 50 after a three year battle with cancer. 

The TV host revealed in November 2022 his cancer had spread to his brain after first being diagnosed with lung cancer in 2020.

BBC bosses created a moving video montage filled with his best bits at the end of the show to remember his 13 years as host. 

Emotional fans took to X, formerly Twitter, as they remembered the presenter and said watching his last episode was ‘heartbreaking’.
