Bringing the Lee Health Cancer Institute’s core functions into south Lee County. “We have ten private examination rooms, a consult room, specialty pharmacy for a lot of our patients who are on oral chemotherapy,” said VP of operations Debi Wilson.

The brand-new Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Cancer Clinic at the Bonita Health Center offers both medical oncology and infusion services. “Right adjacent to the clinic is our 32-bay infusion center for private rooms. And each infusion bay is private as well, so you have time to see your nurse navigator if you’re there. Social work can be there and have those chair-side visits,” said Wilson.

Wilson said one of the Lee Health Cancer Institute’s key focuses is offering patients support services. “And that includes nurse navigation, social work, dietitians, registered dietitians, genetic counseling, just really the goal is to wrap ourselves around the patient and family.”

The clinic opened in 2023, but with the help of generous donors, leaders are looking to grow and add cancer dedicated rehab. “We’re going to actually expand the current rehab facility by 1,800 square feet. It will include four dedicated cancer private rooms for our cancer patients’ therapy, and then also we’ll have a special room private for prosthesis. And we think about things like wigs, bras, lymphedema garments, things that really support the patient going through their therapy,” said Wilson.
