HOLLAND, Ohio (WTVG) – Four events are planned for the month of May for first responders to get free checks for skin cancer.
Fire and EMT skin cancer checks will be held May 6 and May 14 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Toledo Firefighters Local 92 Union Hall on Washington Street.
The free skin cancer checks for police will be held on May 2 and May 30 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio building on Madison Avenue.
“It’s very easy to get checked out, especially if you have a lesion of concern that’s not looking great, that’s new, that’s turning dark, that’s bleeding, that’s scaling, those are all indications that they potentially need to be looked out,” physician and skin cancer surgeon Dr. Matthew Molenda said.
