While calling 911 or going to the emergency department is critical in a life-threatening situation, “If you seek care at the emergency department for non-emergent or non-critical immediate needs, it’s likely that you are going to be prioritized behind somebody who needs immediate intervention,” said Dr. Iahn Gonsenhauser, Lee Health’s Chief Medical Officer.

Fortunately, Lee Health offers a variety of options for care. Your best starting point is leehealth.org/get-care and visiting the symptom checker. “You could choose from 120 to 130 types of symptoms. And based on your symptom, it will show you what type of care options you have available,” said Dr. Zsolt Kulcsar, Lee Health’s Medical Director for Virtual Health.

Lee Telehealth visits range from $29 to $49. “Virtual visits give you many of the same options that in-person care can provide as well, including referrals and even prescriptions called in immediately,” said Dr. Gonsenhauser.

In-person care is available in our convenient care offices. “For many of our patients, Lee Convenient Care is the closest walk-in option. We have four locations across the region. Lee Health also partners with Dispatch Health to bring care to you for around the same cost as an urgent care visit. “Dispatch Health is a service that utilizes physicians, nurses, and advanced care providers who can come and see you in the comfort of your own home, evaluate you, and decide what next steps may be necessary for your care. In many cases, provide those next steps such as lab draws or even calling in prescriptions from the comfort of your own home,” said Gonsenhauser.
