Goldman family attorney reacts to OJ Simpsons death [Video]

OJ Simpson, the former football star acquitted in the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend, Ron Goldman, died Wednesday following a battle with prostate cancer.

Despite being acquitted, in 1997 a civil trial jury found him liable for the murders and ordered him to pay the Brown and Goldman family $33.5 million, according to PBS.

David Cook, the attorney for the Goldman family, told KNX News’ Chris Sedans he has spoken with the family since the news of Simpson’s passing.

“It’s our view of it’s literally dead without penance because obviously he’s gone and for Fred Goldman, and obviously the death of his son, we have nothing here,” he said. “You got nothing out of it.”

He added that Simpson’s death is not the end of everything.

“We believe that he does have assets here and there,” he said.
