Groesbeck community hosts pancake dinner fundraiser for six-year-old battling leukemia [Video]

A six-year-old and his dad are battling leukemia in Groesbeck, and the community is coming together to support the family with a pancake dinner fundraiser Thursday night.

Hudson Swinnea plays football and soccer in Groesbeck and attends Bremond ISD. He was recently diagnosed with leukemia Feb. 20.

“He’s always smiling,” friend of the family and organizer for the fundraiser, Kimberly Perkins said. “He loves Spiderman. He likes superheroes.”

Perkins said she was heartbroken she found out Hudson was diagnosed with cancer.
