Finding out about a cancer diagnosis can be a scary thing, but breaking the news to children adds an extra layer of stress.

We first met Sabrina Messina in October of 2022. She was a young mom who was diagnosed with breast cancer. Messina is now in remission, but never forgets when she had to break the news of her illness to her two young daughters. “My daughter were five and eleven at a time. It’s hard to figure out how to word it and how to put it in a way that a young person can understand”, described Messina.
