Clarkson’s Farm protagonist Jeremy Clarkson found himself unusually lost for words as he got a health update from Gerald Cooper in episode five of the latest series of the hit Prime Video show. Gerald has been battling prostate cancer, which fans of the show only discovered when the first episodes of the new series landed on May 3.

The famously curmudgeonly star had a good day on the farm when he unexpectedly saw Gerald. Clearly delighted, he gushed: “Hang on – no way. He’s back – Gerald’s Back! I cannot believe it,” he repeated, giggling away.

Jumping out of the car he warmly greeted his friend and expressed his surprise that he was straight back to work, before telling him he wanted “chapter and verse”.
