Jill Crocker highlights Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis and exciting news of expansion [Video]

Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Jill Crocker, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis, who highlights the nonprofit organization’s mission and efforts to keep children near the care they need with the family they love. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis offers children with pediatric cancer and other catastrophic illnesses undergoing treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and their families a nurturing, family-centered residential community. The House fosters an environment of hope through support services and child-centered activities that encourage children to be children and keep families together near the care they need, always free of charge. During the interview, Jill provides an overview of the House and facilities, and talks about the impact on the children and families served. She discusses the importance of keeping families together and how that helps provide hope to the children and allows them to focus on healing. Jill then shares the exciting news of expansion into Jackson, Tennessee, where they soon will be serving families of children receiving medical care at Le Bonheur Children’s, located on the third floor of Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. The Ronald McDonald House is currently under construction and will be part of the new Hyatt Place hotel on the campus of West Tennessee Healthcare’s Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. It will feature 20 rooms, a community kitchen, a living area and a laundry area for families who need a “home-away-from-home” while their children receive medical care.
