Kitsch hosts fundraiser concert for guitarist with leukemia [Video]

The band began when four members met at Fish Camp and found they had a common love for music. It didn’t take long before they formed their own band, putting blood, sweat and tears into writing original music.

Then, when guitarist Trent Weaver was diagnosed with leukemia on Christmas Day last year, the band members knew they had to do anything they could to help.

“Kitsch is a dictionary word that means something that’s poor in taste and unattractive, but you like it anyway and you’re drawn to it,” said Jack Baddour, bassist for Kitsch and a Texas A&M senior agricultural business major. “We honestly felt like that was us … We realized we came from different backgrounds and we all wanted to play different things so it’s a godsend that this band worked out.”
