Local Make-A-Wish teen uses wish to help other teens with cancer [Video]

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Addie Oberhouse was diagnosed with Stage Two Hodgkins Lymphoma when she was 16-years-old.

“I had never heard of that. I had never heard of a 16-year-old with cancer. I thought it was just the little babies with leukemia and older people and I was terrified,” Oberhouse said.

During her first chemotherapy treatment, Oberhouse found out she was a Make-A-Wish recipient.

She looked over all the options and began to think about what her wish could be. Should she go to Hawaii? Something else?

Ultimately, she decided to use her wish to impact other teens who have experienced cancer. She created Teens Against Cancer, a day to help other teens connect and find support.

“There was nobody that I knew around me that was my age that knew what I was going through,” Oberhouse said.
