Marc Gasol reunited with St. Jude cancer survivor who described him as symbol of hope while undergoing treatment [Video]

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – On Thursday, retired Memphis Grizzlies’ star Marc Gasol was reunited with Tyler, a St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital cancer survivor who hadn’t seen the legendary forward in 10 years and described him as a symbol of “hope” while he was undergoing treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Gasol didn’t recognize Tyler at first and thought he was meeting him for the first time. The former St. Jude patient then told Gasol that he was finally going to be able to build that bionic leg Gasol had asked him about 10 years earlier.
