I started following Kam Elliott @farmerdolls on FB right before she started sharing her Melanoma journey.
Attending @cultivating.courageconference hosted by @farmwifeguru this past weekend , I was able to meet her in person & hear more of her emotional story.
I have genetic melanoma, it’s inside of me always trying to find a way to come out of hiding.
Fortunately, I’ve caught them in early stages that have not required chemo & my scars are able to be hidden.
Kam had melanoma deep inside of her cheek & nose that required significant reconstructive surgeries .
Every 6 months, I pray my Dermatologist doesn’t see anything “suspicious “
Yesterday I had another 6 month check up with no hiccups .
We all have something, some journey , some recovery. Some of have multiple journeys . I am proud to stand beside Kam as a survivor & as someone who now shares their story to guide others .
Each of us has a choice in how we are going to react to our challenges . It only goes one of two ways.
What choice will You make ?
