My Mother’s Hands was created out of grief of Alexis losing her mother, Patricia Jordan in 2017 to lung cancer. The loss of a mother is a life-altering event. Grief is fundamental to human experience; the loss of a mother with her unique role as nurturer, first teacher, and advisor can be acute. My Mother’s Hands is a community-based organization that seeks to provide care, support, and essential resources for bereaved children and adults, allowing them to build on a foundation of community for hope and healing after losing their mother.
