Antonio Cigliola, MD, IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital, Milan, Italy, gives an overview of utilizing fluoro-deoxy-glucose positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) to predict pelvic lymph node involvement (LNI) in patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). Whilst a number of patients who were FDG-PET positive had T3-T4 bladder cancer, FDG-PET was not found to be efficacious as CT scans in patients with variant histologies. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2024 in San Francisco, CA.
