Reports: O. J. Simpsons official cause of death revealed [Video]

(Gray News/AP) – O. J. Simpson’s official cause of death was revealed Friday.

The former Hall of Fame football player and acquitted murderer died April 10 from metastatic prostate cancer, his lawyer Malcom LaVergne told several media outlets.

Family members announced Simpson’s death on his official X account the day after he died saying, “He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren.”

He was 76.

The retired football star had been battling cancer since announcing the diagnosis in May 2023.

“I was pretty certain it was prostate cancer; ultimately, that was the cause,” LaVergne told People in a statement.

“He thought it had beaten it,” he continued. “I thought this was done, but you know how cancers go. They come back, and they come back with a vengeance.”
