Sandy Springs St. Baldrick’s head shaving event [Video]

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Dozens of Sandy Springs residents will join together on Saturday to shave their heads in support of childhood cancer research. 

The event will happen at noon at the Thos. O’Reilly’s Public House, where the residents will help raise money for the cause as a part of the St Baldrick’s Foundation Head-Shaving event.

St. Baldrick’s funds research grants to find treatments for cancers that mostly impact children.

According to event organizers, the event will honor children who are directly affected by cancer. Since 2008, the event has raised millions for children, and organizers say the money raised will speed the search for cures for childhood cancers.

A news release stated that this year’s event will mark the foundation’s 25th year of helping kids with cancer.
