St. Baldricks Shave-A-Thon AT BGSU raises funds for childhood cancer research [Video]

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (WTVG) – The St. Baldrick’s Foundation’s 2024 Shave-A-Thon at Bowling Green State University brought community members together to “brave the shave” and raise funds towards furthering childhood cancer research.

The 2024 Shave-A-Thon at the BGSU Bowen-Thompson Student Union brought together volunteers and willing participants for the twelfth year. At the event, participants can shave their heads to stand in solidarity with children with cancer who weren’t given a choice to keep their hair.

“We get to see the whole community come together for a great cause,” said Bryna Walker, a returning volunteer at the event. “We do it in solidarity for those kids who don’t get a choice. It brings a lot of joy to people.”

Some participants in the Shave-A-Thon, like Logan Sanders, have returned year after year.
