Telling cancer to take a hike: San Diego Decaders hike for childrens cancer research [Video]

SAN DIEGO (KUSI)– A group of four friends are setting off on a 21-mile ultimate hike in Shenandoah Valley on May 4th on a quest to find a cure for childhood cancer.

Their hiking mission is with CureSearch, a non-profit organization that funds less toxic clinical trials that can be directed to kids.

They go by the “Decaders” because of all being a decade apart at ages 52, 63, 73 and 84.

A cause that they were all drawn to while meeting people who have had kids fight cancer or who are currently going through that battle. These children will be recognized at the finish line and they will carry their photos in our backpacks.
