After years of living with heart trouble, William developed heart failure. At Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute, he received care from our heart failure team and a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) to help his heart pump blood. When he became strong enough and a heart became available, our heart transplant team gave him a new heart. William says he feels much better and is very grateful.
