WSFAs Julia Avant takes part in 2024s Women in Blue campaign for colorectal cancer awareness [Video]

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and the Cancer Wellness Foundation of Central Alabama is once again kicking off its Women in Blue Campaign!

WSFA 12 News has a long tradition of participating in the campaign. Previous years included representatives like WSFA 12 News’s Sally Pitts and Amanda Curran. For 2024, reporter Julia Avant is taking part in this worthy cause!

Colon cancer is the 2nd most commonly occurring cancer in women and the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men and women. It claims the lives of an estimated 53,000 people each year, according to the American Cancer Society.
