Amy Dowden named in Independent Women 2024 Influence List | Lifestyle [Video]

Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden has been named on The Independent’s Influential Women 2024 list.

For a second year running, The Independent has compiled a list of the 50 most influential women of the moment. They came from a variety of worlds spanning the arts, politics, business, sports, television, media, and activism.

Ten of the women on the list have been photographed for an exhibit displayed at London’s Outernet, in aid of the domestic abuse charity Refuge.

The campaign was given a special mention on ITV’s Lorraine show on Friday (8 March).

Amy was diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of breast cancer, after discovering a lump the day before her honeymoon in May 2023.

She went on to document her treatment process on Instagram, raising awareness of the disease and encouraging young women to get checked
