Buddy Check 3: Breast cancer survivors celebrate at fashion show fundraiser [Video]

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – This is a special month for many breast cancer survivors. Thanks to the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, they’ll be taking center stage soon to celebrate their victories and help others on their journey.

Lindsey Katrosh was only 32 years old, a third-grade teacher at Willard Central Elementary, when she was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. Lindsey said she was terrified at first.

But that was ten years ago. Today, Lindsey’s memories are mixed with much more joy than the fear and pain she had back then.

“I mean, my kids were three and almost two, so I was like, how am I going to get through this? My husband, Michael, was amazing and so supportive,” said Lindsey.

So were both Michael’s and Lindsey’s parents as she went through surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. But it was how her students, their parents, and her school family …
