Challenges in implementing liquid biopsies for head and neck cancer

Mouadh Barbirou, PhD, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA, provides an overview of remaining hurdles in implementing liquid biopsies for head and neck cancer in the clinic, such as the lack of reliable data in the field. Whilst circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) is predominantly used for liquid biopsies, exosomes extracted from saliva and plasma are a promising avenue.
