Paloma Faith is set to take part in Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer alongside a host of celebrities, to raise money for a cause close to her heart.  

Hackney-born Paloma Faith has had an illustrious music career, grafting away on the fringe of entertainment before bagging a record deal at 27 years old.

But her start in life was anything but easy, as her mum battled illness throughout the Stone Cold Sober singer’s childhood.

Paloma, 42, was raised in Hackney, East London, by her teacher mother Pamela Oakes-ash and four formidable aunts, after her Spanish father left when she was just four. 

The star has previously said her mother was an ‘amazing single parent,’ but it was not the only challenge she was forced to face.
