Ed Twomey’s lab at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine studies how neurons send signals in the brain, essentially to understand how learning and memory works as one neuron communicates with another neuron using specialized proteins called glutamate receptors. He uses cryo-electron microscopy (CryoEM) to understand the fine details of how this happen. #CryoEM #JohnsHopkins #Memory
