The 5K at Seawalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach will be held on Saturday, May 11.
The 2024 Waves of Gray – 5K Brain Cancer/Tumor Awareness Walk will be held at Seawalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach on Saturday, May 11.
Waves of Gray was created by Dianne Fenton Waters in memory of her husband Fred Fenton, who lost his battle with brain cancer in November 2016. The walk raises money for brain cancer and tumor research and supports the Waves of Gray Neuro-Oncology Endowment, which supports research programs at Baptist/MD Anderson Cancer Center in Jacksonville.
Organizers say 100% of the proceeds from the run/walk go to research. Dianne Fenton Waters and her husband’s oncologist Dr. Rob Cavaliere were guests on Good Morning Jacksonville to describe what the race and the research mean to them.
