Ribbon cutting set for new Carolina Beach playground [Video]

CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – The Brandy Myers Memorial Playground will officially open with a ribbon cutting Wednesday, April 10, according to the Town of Carolina Beach.

The new playground is named in honor of Brandy Myers, daughter of Caron and Danny “Chocolate” Myers, who passed away at the age of 10 from leukemia.

“The playground was designed to be an inclusive park for children of different ages and abilities, where families can engage in activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play. We hope you will join us for the grand opening and be among the first to experience this awesome park space!” the Town of Carolina Beach states.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. at the Carolina Beach Lake Park, located at 400 Lake Park Blvd. S.
