Teen in remission from cancer uses wish to give back to sick children in hospital [Video]

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) – A North Carolina teen in remission from stage four brain cancer is a recent Make-a-Wish recipient, but she didn’t use it on a trip to Paris or Disney World.

Instead, the special girl with a huge heart used her wish to give back to sick kids at her local children’s hospital.

Indigo Powell, or Indi, is a special teen with a very big heart for pediatric patients like herself.

“I was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer when I was 13,” Indigo said.

After years of grueling cancer treatments, Indigo is now 17 years old and in remission.

“Two brain surgeries, and then she’s also been on an amazing T-cell trial in Washington, D.C.,” Lori Powell, Indigo’s mother, described.

Indigo and her family said they are thankful for the care and support she received at UNC Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill.
