The 19th Annual Tee Off Fore A Cure to fight Childhood Cancer [Video]

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Children’s of Alabama is ‘Dreaming of a Cure’ at their 19th Annual ‘Tee Off Fore A Cure’ fundraising event.

The event kicks off with a pajama pre-party at Lakewood Golf Club on Friday, March 1 at 6:30 p.m. and helps raise money to fight against pediatric cancer.

The event continues Saturday, March 2 at 9 a.m. with a four-person scramble-style golf tournament. Tickets are $250 per player or $1,000 per team.

Following the tournament, Lakewood Golf Club will host a pre-sold golf ball drop of 5,000 balls from a hot air balloon. The first ball in, or the closest to the hole, will receive a quarter of the proceeds, which is up to $5,000.

Children’s of Alabama Gulf Coast Coordinator Kerrie Benson says ‘Tee Off Fore A Cure’ is inspired by patient, Frances Grace Hirs. In 2013, Hirs was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia for this third time. …
